The Student Loans Company is the body appointed by the government to help students finance themselves through their studies. You will be eligible for different loan amounts depending on the funds available to you, your local authority and where you are studying. To find out more visit the SLC website
You will eventually be expected to repay your loan in monthly instalments, depending on how much you borrowed, when you borrowed, the length of time you will take to pay back the loan, and the amount of interest charged - which will be equal to the rate of inflation measured by the Retail Prices Index. The exact details of the student loan and university fees change all the time so the best thing is to check out the SLC site, read the papers or ask at your university finance office.
